Personal Assessment Competency Questionnaire – PAQ

People Diagnostic Tools

The Personal Competency Assessment Questionnaire (also known as a PAQ) is used to determine the core managerial competencies of the people at the forefront of managing the operation. These are the managerial skills that should have been given to people at the time of promotion, and / or reviewed as part of the competency framework when employing people into these roles.

We often find these competencies are lacking which is a reflection on the business more that it is of the individual.

Typically we use this tool to assess the skills of operational managers in roles from Line Leader to Shift Manager. People who managerial and leadership responsibility.

The copy here is a simplified version for single person administration, we have a tool that can be used to collate many scores that is available on request.

Ideally the questionnaire is administered in a ‘classroom’ exam type environment to prevent copying and cheating (yes they do use google sometimes). The ‘printable booklet’ will provide a perfect sheet for the sessions and information can be transferred across to the scoring post completion.

After completing the scoring there is a 1-page feedback summary for the person(s) scored which gives an overview of the differences between situational and self assessed scores plus a quick summary of next steps.

The follow up to the Competency Questionnaire has many functions, primarily to develop individual training plans for the people measured. Secondly the questions and categories will form the basis of a competency framework for recruitment & succession planning.

**Remember – this is less about the individual competencies but a measure of the development they have been given by the company for their roles.**
